Your submission at Articles for creation: Riveter (April 13)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Theroadislong was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

There are a number of articles that validate the place, this one being a full article, not a passing mention: https://www.blueridgenow.com/story/news/2019/05/15/riveter-indoor-bike-park-climbing-gym-coming-to-mills-river/5148703007/
And, other passing mentions or press releases:

No, I am not being paid nor am I affiliated with these people. I did visit there personally the other day and was impressed with the facility, so maybe that creates a conflict of interest, I don't know.
It looks like this subject is too local, and needed national coverage to qualify for notability? Weavingowl (talk) 12:28, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Radio Systems Corporation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lines like "Radio Systems Corporation ranked number 5 out of 25 in Fortune's 2021 "Best Small and Medium Workplaces in Manufacturing and Production"." and the use of symbols such as "®" scream out "written as advertisement" and/or "paid to edit". Remember, no fancy symbols, no insider trading/marketing slang, and no long technically information (none really in this article, but since you had asked), as all of this is generally interpreted as being advertisementy or promotionally oriented. TomStar81 (Talk) 03:31, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed you post on the admin’s talk page and wanted to let you know that this admin keeps odd hours and is on here infrequently, so it may be a few days before you get a reply of any kind. If waiting that long isn’t for you I’d recommend asking over at WP:AN or someplace like that to see if someone can help you get the page back. 2600:1011:B143:175:5D9D:1C4F:7BFD:BCC6 (talk) 04:06, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm in the middle of my work week at the moment, but I am not opposed to refunding the work. Catch though is that it can not go back out in the mainspace, so I can restore it but then I got to move it either to AFC or to the userspace. Which would you like? TomStar81 (Talk) 13:34, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fairly new and don't know what either of those places are; are they a path to the mainspace, or how to get it back to being a public facing article? Weavingowl (talk) 13:40, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, workweeks are long and I come home tired and just desiring rest. Lots of it. Anyway... Both options are paths back to the main space, but under the circumstances I think AFC would be the best route since that route requires someone else with editing ability sign off on the article being good enough to go back out into the mainspace. Otherwise, you may end up launching the article again only to have it shot down before it gets off the airfield as it were. TomStar81 (Talk) 01:36, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
AFC sounds good. Do I need to do anything or just wait until some other editor comes along to check it? Weavingowl (talk) 01:45, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
On an unrelated note, as it appears you're new here, you may wish to consider checking out Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Academy, while its built principally for military history related articles its still a basic proving ground for new editors to better get a grip on what they need to do to get material in the mainspace without attracting unwanted attention. TomStar81 (Talk) 01:38, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's great, super comprehensive, thank you Weavingowl (talk) 01:46, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the article and moved it to the draft space for AFC consideration, you can work on it there unmolested as it were. The new link is Draft:Radio Systems Corporation. Good luck! TomStar81 (Talk) 16:57, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've edited it and removed everything that was flagged / noted as possibly promotional, and hit publish. Is this all I need to do and someone else comes along to review again? Weavingowl (talk) 21:45, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Treat it like an AFC and resubmit it through AFC system, that way when they thinks it ready you'll know it has a fighting chance. TomStar81 (Talk) 11:44, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Robert Candelino has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

BLP does not meet WP:NBIO

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

Robert Candelino moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Robert Candelino, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. MrsSnoozyTurtle 08:49, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article has more reputable sources than most of its kind, nothing else needed. Weavingowl (talk) 11:43, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Robert Candelino (June 4)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Robert McClenon was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
This page has been moved back from article space to draft space. Please read the comments by the draftifying reviewer and address them. Do not resubmit this draft without addressing the comments of the previous reviewer. If you do not understand why this article was sent back to draft space, ask the reviewer rather than simply resubmitting.

You may ask for advice on how to improve this draft at the Teahouse or on the talk pages of any of the reviewers. (The declining reviewers may advise you to ask for advice at the Teahouse.)

If this draft is resubmitted without any improvement or with very little improvement, it will probably be rejected.

This draft does not speak for itself and does not establish biographical notability. The issue is not the references, but the body of the article. A reader looks at the body of an article before reading the references, or doesn't look at the references.

This draft was resubmitted rapidly, within a few hours, after being declined, with only minor changes. Resubmitting a draft too rapidly after it was declined is not useful and is not likely to result in approval. When a draft that has been declined is resubmitted, the reviewers look at the history, and expect that the submitter will attempt to address the concerns of the reviewers. If the submitter is not sure what the reviewer wants, it would be a good idea to discuss with the reviewer rather than just resubmitting (and annoying the reviewers).

You may ask for advice on how to improve this draft at the Teahouse or on the talk pages of any of the declining reviewers. (The declining reviewers may advise you to ask for advice at the Teahouse.)

The author is very strongly advised to discuss with the reviewers, or at least to rework this draft substantially, rather than just resubmitting.

If this draft is resubmitted rapidly again, it is likely to be rejected, and it may be nominated for deletion, or a topic-ban may even be requested against further submission by the responsible editor.

This draft, as written, does not appear to indicate that one of the biographical notability criteria is satisfied. If one of the criteria is satisfied, please revise this draft appropriately, with a reliable source, if necessary stating on the talk page or in AFC comments which criterion is met, and resubmit. It is the responsibility of the submitter to show that a subject satisfies a notability criterion.

You may ask for advice about the biographical notability criteria at the Teahouse.

In particular, see and refer to WP:GNG for notability, which is the guideline that the subject should be evaluated against.

Does the author of this draft have any sort of financial or other connection with the subject of this draft? Please read the conflict of interest policy and the paid editing policy and make any required disclosures.

You may ask for advice about conflict of interest at the Teahouse.

If this draft is resubmitted without addressing the question about conflict of interest, it may be Rejected or nominated for deletion.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Please address these issues. The best way to do it is usually to read reliable sources and summarize them, instead of using a large language model. See our help page on large language models.
The comment the reviewer left was:
AI-written slop.

Can you point to any of these signs? I completely rewrote the article, so I'd like to see exactly what you're saying is AI. Weavingowl (talk) 14:24, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Deepsea Challenge (September 20)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Haj was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of films). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
