Federation of origin

Should the volleyball biography infobox have a "federation of origin". Arguably this is more relevant than citizenship when it comes to international competitions. This also explains on why certain players cannot just play for their national teams despite obvious links to the desired national teams (MJ Phillips, Brooke Van Sickle).

But nationality is not irrelevant either since domestic leagues may use nationality differently when it comes to their own regulations. Jaja Santiago has a Philippine federation of origin despite having swapped citizenship to Japanese, and probably eligible to play as a local in Japanese leagues system despite having to still process international transfer certificates due to having a different FOO.

The current workaround is I made footnotes but this is not ideal since federation of origin isnt necesarilly the same as the sporting nationality or citizenship. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:53, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates

For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

• "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Women's volleyball teams in the Philippines
