ক্রিস্টোফার হিচেন্স
ক্রিস্টোফার এরিক হিচেন্স (১৩ এপ্রিল ১৯৪৯ - ১৫ ডিসেম্বর ২০১১) একজন ব্রিটিশ প্রাবন্ধিক, বাগ্মী, সাংবাদিক, লেখক, সাহিত্য ও সমাজ সমালোচক। হিচেন্স ৩০টির অধিক গ্রন্থের রচয়িতা, সহরচয়িতা, সম্পাদক বা সহসম্পাদক। হিচেন্স নিউ স্টেটসম্যান, দ্য নেশন, দ্য উইকলি স্ট্যান্ডার্ড, দ্য আটলান্টিক, লন্ডন রিভিউ অব বুকস, দ্য টাইমস লিটেরারি সাপ্লিমেন্ট, স্লেট, ফ্রি ইনকোয়ারি, ও ভ্যানিটি ফেয়ার প্রভৃতি পত্রিকায় লিখতেন।
ভাবাদর্শের দিক থেকে হিচেন্স ছিলেন গণতান্ত্রিক সমাজতন্ত্রী ও মার্ক্সবাদী। হিচেন্স তার লেখনীতে বিল ক্লিনটন, হেনরি কিসিঞ্জার, মেরি টেরিজা বোজাঝিউ, ড্যায়ানা প্রমুখের কঠোর সমালোচনা করেন।
হিচেন্স একজন নাস্তিক চিন্তক। তার প্রখ্যাত বাণী, 'যা প্রমাণ ছাড়া দাবি করা যায়, তা প্রমাণ ছাড়া খারিজ করা যায়।'[৮][৯] হেল'স এঞ্জেল তথ্যচিত্রে টেরিজার সমালোচনা করে হিচেন্স বলেন যে টেরিজা গরিব-মিসকিনদের দুঃখদুর্দশাকে ঈশ্বর প্রণীত কপালের লিখন বলে মেনে নিতে বলেন এবং তাদের তিনি মানহীন, অনিরাপদ, ও অকার্যকর চিকিৎসা সেবা দিতে নানা ধরনের নৈতিকতাবিবর্জিত ব্যক্তির কাছ থেকে অর্থ গ্রহণ করেছেন। পরবর্তীতে এই তথ্যচিত্রের ভিত্তিতে হিচেন্স দ্য মিশনারি পজিশন: মাদার টেরিজা ইন থিওরি অ্যান্ড প্র্যাকটিস (১৯৯৫) শিরোনামে একটি গ্রন্থ রচনা করেন।
