Erretinol-lotura 3 proteina interstiziala (RBP 3) edo interfotoerrezeptore erretinoide-lotura proteina (IRB), RBP 3 geneak gizakietan kodetzen duen proteina da.[3] Eutheria gehienetan RBP 3 ortologoak identifikatu dira, tenrecetan eta armadiloetan izan ezik.[4] Bere jatorrirako bakterio batetik geneen transferentzia horizontala proposatu da, begien eboluzioak kordatuetan duen bilakaera azaltzeko.[5]
Inter-fotoerrezeptoreen erretinoide-lotura proteina glukoproteina handi bat da, erretinaren fotorrezeptore-arteko matrizean aurkitzen da nagusiki, erretinako epitelio pigmentarioaren (RPE) eta zelula fotorrezeptoreen artean. Uste da erretinoideak garraiatzen dituela RPEren eta fotorrezeptoreen artean, funtzio kritikoa ikusmen prozesuan.[6][7]
Gizakiaren IRBP geneak 9,5 kbp inguruko luzera du, eta lau exoi ditu, hiru introiez bereizita. Introiek 1,6-1,9 kb/s-ko luzera dute. Fotorrezeptore eta erretinoblastomako zelulek transkribatzen dute genea, gutxi gorabehera 4,3 kilobaseko mRNA batean, eta 135.000 Da-ko proteina glukosilatu batean itzultzen eta prozesatzen da.
rbp 3 genea animalietan erabiltzen da DNA nuklearraren markatzaile filogenetiko gisa.[4] 1. exoia azterketa aitzindari batean erabili da lehenik, Chiropteraren monofiletismoaren ebidentzia emateko.[8] Ondoren, ugaztun plazentarioen ordenen filogenia[9][10], eta Rodentia[11], Macroscelidea[12] eta Primateak[13] klado nagusiak inferitzeko erabili da. RBP 3 maila taxonomiko apalagoetan ere erabil daiteke, adibidez, karraskari muroideetan[14] eta Madagaskarreko primateetan[15], filogeografia-mailan Geomys eta Apodemus karraskarietan[16][17], baita espezie haragijaleak identifikatzeko ere.[18]
