പത്മനാഭൻ ബാലറാം ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പ്രശസ്തനായ ഒരു ബയോകെമിസ്റ്റ് ആ്ണ്. ഇദ്ദേഹം ബാംഗളൂരുവിലെ  ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് സയൻസിന്റെ ഡയരക്ടർ ആയിരുന്നു.  2014 ലെ പത്മഭൂഷൺ പുരസ്കാരം ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്[2] കൂടാതെ 1994 ലെ  TWAS Prize ഉം.[3]
