Alabama's 5th congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in the state of Alabama. The people who live in the district elects a person to represent the district in the United States House of Representatives. The district has the counties of Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Morgan and most of Jackson. The congressional district has been represented by Republican Mo Brooks since 2010. Brooks was elected in 2010 when he defeated Parker Griffith who was a Democrat but changed to Republican.
