Doğan Akhanlı ([doːˈ‿an aˈhanlɯ]; 18 March 1957 – 31 October 2021[1]) was a Turkish-born German writer. His works focused on genocides of the 20th century, such as those affecting Armenians and the Jews.[2] His works criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and often got him arrested.[3]
Akhanlı died from cancer on 31 October 2021 at the age of 64 in Berlin.[4]
