Fikre Selassie Wogderess (Ge'ez: ፍቅረ ሥላሴ ወግደረስ; 13 July 1945[1] – 12 December 2020) was an Ethiopian politician. He was the first Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (PDRE) from 10 September 1987 to 8 November 1989. He was fired by President Mengistu Haile Mariam.[2]
In 1989, he was sentenced to death for war crimes and murder.[3] In 2010, the Ethiopian court removed his death sentence and released him following year.
Wogderess died on 12 December 2020 in Addis Ababa from diabetes-related problems at the age of 75.[4]
