Jeannette McHugh (née Goffet; born 18 December 1934) is an Australian politician, teacher and activist. She was the first woman from New South Wales elected to federal parliament. She was born in Kandos, New South Wales.
McHugh was in the House of Representatives from 1983 to 1996, representing the Australian Labor Party (ALP). McHugh was Minister for Consumer Affairs in the Keating Government from 1992 to 1996.[1]
