Tomás Sánchez
Tomás Sánchez (born May 22, 1948 in Aguada de Pasajeros, Cienfuegos, Cuba) is a Cuban painter and engraver, known for his landscapes.
He was on a blacklist in Cuba for [part of the time] between 1987 and 2014; he did not have any solo exhibitions (or exhibitions alone) in Cuba for 27 years.[1]
His exhibitions have been at places that include
- Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, held a retrospective exhibition in 1996 (or an exhibiton that included many of his earliest works).
Critics and curators have said that his work has links to the experience of meditation.
In 2016, Sánchez was called the most expensive living Cuban painter.[2][3]
