Pachystruthio bilinen üç türü olan soyu tükenmiş bir koşucu kuş cinsidir. Struthionidae familyası içinde yer alır ve bazen "dev deve kuşu" olarak da isimlendirilir. Pliyosen ve Pleistosen dönemde Avrasya'da yaşamıştır.^[1] Filogenetik olarak henüz sınıflandırılması tamamlanmamıştır ve diğer deve kuşu akrabaları ile birlikte daha fazla çalışmaya ihtiyaç duymaktadır.^[2]
