The Articles of Confederation were not adopted in Philadelphia.
[edit]This article is incorrect when it claims that the Articles of Confederation were adopted in Philadelphia. At the time of their adoption, Philadelphia was occupied by the British. Because of this, the Articles of Confederation were adopted in the Continental Congress's temporary capital of York, Pennsylvania. Please edit to correct this. I believe it should be added to the cuisine section that Philadelphia is also home to multiple James Beard Most Outstanding Restaurant Awards in Zahav Italic texthttps://www.cnn.com/2019/05/07/us/james-beard-winners-2019-trnd/index.html & Friday Saturday Sunday Italic texthttps://www.inquirer.com/food/restaurants/philadelphia-restaurants-james-beard-awards-kalaya-fork-friday-saturday-sunday-20230605.html. The city is more than hoagies and cheesesteaks and that should be noted. Chrismaurer12345 (talk) 18:48, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. PianoDan (talk) 22:57, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
Merging city offices
[edit]At WP:Articles for deletion/Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management, a participant proposed merging Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management to Philadelphia#Public safety. Another participant and I opposed the merge, citing WP:WEIGHT (shortcut to WP:Neutral point of view#Due and undue weight, policy). As far as I can tell, Philadelphia Police Department and Philadelphia Fire Department – linked in {{Main}} templates – are much larger than the OEM. The Government link in {{Philadelphia}} links to Philadelphia#Law and government, and I don't see a more appropriate article.
Philadelphia Managing Director's Office was deleted by WP:Proposed deletion. "The managing director is the City’s chief operating officer (COO) and a principal member of the mayor’s cabinet."[1] Mayor of Philadelphia focuses on history, and Philadelphia City Hall is about the building.

Is there any interest in covering these city offices here or in another article? Flatscan (talk) 04:35, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
Updating City agency name in Arts section
[edit]The City's office of arts and culture is no longer named "Office of Arts and Culture" nor its more recent name "Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy". In 2024 the official name became "Creative Philadelphia" [2]. The office refers to itself as the office of arts and culture as a descriptor. Suggested revision: "The program, which has funded more than 200 pieces of public art, is administered by Creative Philadelphia, the City of Philadelphia's office of arts and culture (the city's art agency).” SonOfMargin (talk) 14:37, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

Change "The program, which has funded more than 200 pieces of public art, is administered by the Philadelphia Office of Arts and Culture, the city's art agency." to "The program, which has funded more than 200 pieces of public art, is administered by the Creative Philadelphia, the city's office of arts and culture." sea temperature
[edit]i would consider removing the sea temperatures graph underneath the climate chart. there is no seacoast in Philadelphia and the site we're linking to is an aggregator that is more interested in ad clicks than in accuracy. their temperatures are a bit off from ours too, though not alarmingly so. —Soap— 20:13, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
