Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Swiss Association of Women Farmers and Rural Women when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Specifying |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= needs to be defined in the template in order to work. You can look at the documentation for the template being used, but it is also helpful to use the preview button before saving an edit; this helps find any errors that have been made and ensures that the values added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is highly recommended that editors use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions of if I can help explain further, please let me know! You can also contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:28, 22 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

LLM use

[edit]

Given the nature of your current proposal at WP:VPP, as well as the appearance that the original post itself is at least partially LLM-generated, I have to ask: to what extent have you used LLMs in your Wikipedia editing, both in articles, and in generating talk page comments. I see a lot of article creations by you, as well as at least a couple suspicious talk page comments. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 16:57, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

The original post itself is fully written by myself, without any use of LLM for any of the sentences.
As for the articles I create, I use an LLM for the translation as the LLM policy allows, after manually reviewing everything as required by the policy. I do not use LLMs for talk page comments. 7804j (talk) 17:07, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
sorry, but you've created 96 articles in 2 days, are you using an LLM to translate the source and pasting that into the article? Lots are being done within the same minute, you can't possibly be reviewing them! Also, WP:LLMTRANSLATE only applies to translating from other wikis Kowal2701 (talk, contribs) 21:33, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I review them first, then submit in batch which is why they succeed each other. I am currently on paternity leave so I do have a lot of time at hand. These articles are pretty short, so yes a side by side screen comparison of the original French to the translation is possible even for 96 articles in two days.
Regarding WP:LLMTRANSLATE, the spirit of the rule is that using LLMs to translate text is ok. I am only translating from Historical Dictionary of Switzerland, which is a highly reliable source and whose topics are almost always notable, and already in a creative commons license, such that copy pasting the raw original article into French/German/Italian Wikipedias is tolerated. So this is really equivalent to translating from other Wikipedias and fully follows the spirit in which that guideline was written. I have also received manu thanks from users for creating these pages, and no page was ever deleted or significantly altered, and barely any of the pages I created were ever further edited for particular issues, so the quality is very high. 7804j (talk) 05:19, 11 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
(note that I have been doing that for more than a year, but now have gotten more efficient and have a lot more time at hand) 7804j (talk) 05:28, 11 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
