Meqqi Aderin-Pokok (tam adı: Dama Marqaret Ebunoluva Aderin-Pokok; 9 mart, 1968) — britaniyalı kosmik elmlər üzrə alim və elm təbliğatçısı.; O, London Universitet Kollecinin Fizika və Astronomiya Departamentinin fəxri elmi işçisidir və 1 mart 2023-cü ildən Lester Universitetinin rektoru vəzifəsində çalışır.[1] 2014-cü ilin fevral ayından etibarən Kris Lintott ilə birlikdə uzun müddətdir nəşr edilən "The Sky at Night" adlı astronomiya televiziya verilişinin aparıcısıdır. 2020-ci ildə Fizika İnstitutunun "Uilyam Tomson, Lord Kelvin" medalı və mükafatına layiq görülmüşdür.[2][3] O, Fizika xəbərləri mükafatında qızıl medal qazanan ilk qaradərili qadın olmuş və 2021-2022-ci illərdə Britaniya Elm Assosiasiyasının prezidenti kimi fəaliyyət göstərmişdir.[4]

Aderin-Pokok 2009-cu ildə elm təhsili sahəsində xidmətlərinə görə "Britaniya imperiyası" ordeninin üzvü təyin edilmiş [5] və 2024-cü ilin Yeni il fəxri siyahısında elm təhsili və müxtəlifliyə töhfələrinə görə "Britaniya imperiyası" ordeninin komandoru rütbəsinə yüksəldilmişdir.[6][7]

  • 2005 – "Champions Club UK" tərəfindən "Mükəmməllik Sertifikatı" ilə təltif edilib.[8]
  • 2009 – Staffordşir Universiteti tərəfindən elm təhsili sahəsinə töhfələrinə görə fəxri elmlər doktoru adına layiq görülüb.[9]
  • 2011 – "Women in Film and Television" (WFTV) təşkilatından "Yeni İstedad" mükafatının qalibi olub.[10]
  • 2012 – Böyük Britaniyanın ən nüfuzlu 100 qaradərili şəxsi siyahısına daxil edilib.[11]
  • 2013 – Böyük Britaniyanın ən nüfuzlu 10 qaradərili şəxsi siyahısına daxil edilib.[12]
  • 2013 – Yale Universitetinin Disleksiya Mərkəzindən "Standartlardan kənar düşüncə" mükafatını alıb.[11]

  • 2020 – Fizika İnstitutu tərəfindən fizikada ictimai maarifləndirmə sahəsindəki fəaliyyətinə görə "Uilyam Tomson, Lord Kelvin" medalı və mükafatı ilə təltif edilib.[16]

O, 2022-ci ildə Kral Mərkəzi Nitq və Drama Məktəbinin vitse-prezidenti təyin edilib.[17]

2023-cü ildə Mattel şirkəti, Beynəlxalq Qadınlar Gününü qeyd etmək üçün Aderin-Pokokun şərəfinə Barbi kuklası hazırlayıb.[18]

Şəxsi həyatı

Aderin-Pokok 2010-cu ilin mart ayında BBC Radio 4-ün "Desert Island Discs" verilişində həyatından bəhs etmiş[19] və elm sahəsində qadınlar haqqında yazılmış bir çox bioqrafik məqalələrin mövzusu olmuşdur.[20]

O, 2002-ci ildə Martin Pokok ilə evlənmişdir. Cütlüyün 2010-cu ildə doğulan Loren adlı bir qızları var və onlar Sürrey qraflığının Gildford şəhərində yaşayırlar.[21]
