Sebastes ensifer és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels sebàstids i a l'ordre dels escorpeniformes.[4][5]

Fa 30 cm de llargària màxima.[6][7]

És vivípar i de fecundació interna.[8]

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,63.[9]

És inofensiu per als humans[7] i el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és de moderat a alt (46 de 100).[10]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica

És un peix marí, demersal (entre 70 i 433 m de fondària)[6] i de clima subtropical, el qual viu al Pacífic[11][12][6] oriental central: des de San Francisco (Califòrnia,[13] els Estats Units)[14][15][16] fins al centre de la península de Baixa Califòrnia (Mèxic),[17][18] incloent-hi el corrent de Califòrnia.[19][6][20][21][3][7][22]
