Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
Kajri
[edit]Hey, I'm from Mirzapur. Main language of Kajri is Awadhi. It's no way बिहारी. It has some bhojpuri content because of Banaras Aman8188 (talk) 19:31, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Just because you don't speak Bhojpuri doesn't mean the language of the land would be Awadhi. Bhojpuri is spoken by majority in the district, Refers to the census 2011 data and official regional language of Mirzapur. Bhojpuri is spoken in few parts of Bihar and major parts in Uttar Pradesh with few districts of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh as well. Mirzapur has Western Bhojpuri dialects which sound a bit different than Bihari one. Adrikshit (talk) 06:34, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Bhojpuri is spoken only by 18% population. Mirzapur is divided in 4 divisions. Mirzapur, Lalganj,Marihan and Chunar. 3 of them Speak Awadhi. Only eastern part of Chunar speaks mix of Awadhi and Bhojpuri because they have marrital relationships in neighbouring bhojpuri district. Kajri originated in Kantit which falls in Mirzapur Tehsil which is totally Awadhi Area. I see you guys insert bhojpuri everywhere. Aman8188 (talk) 07:02, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Awadhi is spoken by 0.17% of population. Thats 4k population due to border with Prayagraj. Kajari is not originated from Mirzapur but that place is just famous so in Banaras. For more details about Kajari, read book on folk songs in bhojpuri. You will get Idea about it. Adrikshit (talk) 07:38, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- You are on high bro. Stop inserting bhojpuri everywhere. It's people like you are propogating everything as bhojpuri. History of Awadhi is older than bhojpuri. Just because Awadhi people don't care of their language, you guys are making everything bhojpuri. Come in Mirzapur, speak bhojpuri.. people would call you Bihari. We are part of baghelkhand not Purvanchal. We don't share any culture with bhojpuri people. We don't know what is Chhath puja. Banaras is nothing but a cultural centre. Banaras gharana is more related to Awadhi culture than Bhojpuri. Since they speak mixed language, they transform everything in Bhojpuri. Go and listen kajri of chhannulal mishra. He would tell you exact story... Probably you don't know about Braj kajri. Be limited to Bihar. Purvanchal is mix of Awadhi-Bhojpuri traditions. Aman8188 (talk) 07:47, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- State with source and write what you want to prove. Your opinion isn't a proof. Kajari is composed in Bhojpuri and sing in several parts. You don't celebrate anything doesn't mean that doesn't exist. Adrikshit (talk) 07:54, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- It's better to show ashleelpuris their aukat. You have controlled everything earlier. Let Awadhi people rise then they would tell what is yours. Everything is propogated by bhojpuris in their own favour Aman8188 (talk) 07:58, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bhojpuri language. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 08:12, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi Adrikshit! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Awadhi language several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Awadhi language, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.. Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]
Hello Adrikshit! Your additions to Purvi have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license—to request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons.
