Introduction to contentious topics

Note on linking regular words

Hi Joko2468, I'm mentioning this here because I see you've been doing it across many articles: we don't normally link regular English words if they aren't technical or aren't of special relevance to the topic. The word "pacified", for example, should normally not need to be linked to Pacification (military action) (likewise with War, Battle, etc.). For the future, have a look at MOS:OVERLINK (the guideline on "overlinking").

On a related note, you should also look at WP:NOTDICTIONARY and keep it in mind. I'm not sure if Pacification (military action), for example, really complies with that guideline. R Prazeres (talk) 01:53, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
