The Alarm é unha banda galesa de rock formada en Rhyl no ano 1981. Nacido en 1977 como un grupo de punk, The Toilets, co vocalista Mike Peters, a banda pronto abrazou o rock de arena e incluíu marcadas influencias da lingua e cultura galesas. The Alarm converteuse nunha popular banda de new wave ao actuar como abreconcertos de artistas como U2[1] e Bob Dylan[2] nos anos 80.
O sinxelo de máis éxito nas listas británicas de The Alarm foi o tema de 1983 "Sixty Eight Guns", que acadou o número 17. O seu disco de 1984 Declaration, que contén "Sixty Eight Guns", chegou ao número 6 da lista británica de álbums.[3]
