wise cleanup

Thank you for quality articles on military history such as Battle of Pocotaligo, gnomish work on articles and fighting subtle vandalism, for illustrating "wise old thing" (with a ring to it), for working on cleanup in the tavern, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Currently this page describes Juniper as "co-host[ing] the internet culture podcast Western Kabuki." Western Kabuki no longer exists, so this should be past tense. This section should be updated to include that she co-hosts the successor to Western Kabuki called Kill the Computer (source: https://x.com/CantEverDie/status/1947525937366774194?s=20). She also co-hosts Ill Conceived, a podcast about "the modern project of natalism" (source:https://illconceivedpodcast.com/).BarberWestchester (talk) 13:40, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Remove the link to User talk:Blocked user at the top of the page. That sentence currently reads, “To mess around and test things, try User talk:Sandbox or User talk:Blocked user.” This implies that, like User talk: Sandbox, it is a sandbox. However, it is not. It is an example page, and as it says at the top, not a sandbox. It should be changed to say “To mess around and test things, try User talk:Sandbox.” FloblinTheGoblin (talk) 23:51, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

[edit]

I have created 35 articles and am familiar with our core policies that including hoaxes, spam and unsourced or poorly sourced BLPs and NPPs. I regularly patrol AV and perform copyedits using AWB and also PCR. I request autopatroller rights to help reduce the worklog and backlog of NPPs and maintain article quality. Regards.  Done Sohom (talk) 08:33, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

I have been editing since 2020 and have created ~90 articles (and none have been deleted). One of my articles was nominated for deletion in September but it survived. AllWeKnowOfHeaven (talk) 17:24, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

@AllWeKnowOfHeaven, Could you explain how/why you think Mama's Pizza in notable? On a quick look, I'm inclined to agree with the tag on the page, in that it fails WP:LOCALCORP. Sohom (talk) 08:45, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
@Sohom: I mostly figured the inclusion of information about its history in books about local history and bigger papers like Fort Worth Star-Telegram (which is a pretty big paper) got it over the threshold, but it is an edge case since it's local history. In my experience, coverage in a number of major NYC or LA publications will usually be considered SIGCOV at AfD, but newspapers from Charleston, SC probably wouldn't, so it's a little variable. I didn't remove the notability tag because I figure someone might want to take it to AfD or draftify it (since it's not 90 days old yet). The fact that no one has yet is probably because they're not certain either way. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't create the page today because I'm not 100% sure it meets my threshold anymore. AllWeKnowOfHeaven (talk) 16:41, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

For some reason I've never had this but I notice it a lot when moving pages at Requested Page Moves. This would help out by removing all those pages from the backlog. Thanks, Sir Joseph (talk) 03:07, 7 January 2026 (UTC) Sir Joseph (talk) 03:07, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Requesting AWB rights because I want to try using AutoWikiBrowser and see if I like it better that (some of) the userscripts I'm using currently for similiar tasks. I think I would like using a separate program rather than userscripts in the MediaWiki interface. Being able to queue up a list of pages for similar edits/tasks seems like a useful feature, though I would of course be very careful about that. I have read the AWB guidelines and requirements, and understand that I am responsible for my own use of this (and any other) tool. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 10:04, 6 January 2026 (UTC) --Gurkubondinn (talk) 10:04, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

New page reviewer

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights — Women in Red, for which I have written many pages, has put out a call for new page reviewers to help out with backlog, so I thought I’d request and see what happens! thanks! Thellomerca (talk) 17:02, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

Not done, unforch, since I don't see recent engagement with notability related process like deletion discussion or page creations especially recently, (which is something we expect from folks applying with the userright). I do see your previous work on redlinked biographies to be interesting so if you spend some time around AFD WP:HEYing articles or create some new ones from scratch that would be a good step towards getting a better understanding of NPP's backroom work. NPP, pending changes, and AfC reviewer; rollbacker, mentor, and TA IP viewer; 11+ years active, 7,000+ edits. I actually thought I had requested this a few months ago, but I was incorrect. Realized I should probably request it after closing a relatively major RM. Just looking to assist with the backlog and would be helpful at AfC. Requesting at least temporal rights to move the remaining categories listed at Wikipedia talk:Categories for discussion/Log/2025 October 10. Being redirect categories, they cannot be moved by the bot. I meet the guidelines regarding registration length, edits and blocks, and have worked significant time on category renaming (e.g. Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2025 October 3#Category:Churches in the Marche by city), more than article moving. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 10:41, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

I am looking to extend my permission further, which is scheduled to expire on 13 January. So far I have found the permission to be very useful in the work I do, especially with cases of article titles not properly following WP:DASH. I feel I have used the permission responsibly as well, as I have been careful to determine page moves that are controversial enough to require discussions, and ones that clearly correlate to the MoS. Hi there. Until now, I've mainly observed moves from the sidelines. However, that still allowed me to get familiar with the policies. Since becoming a NPP, I've encountered more and more situations requiring the perm.

I'm aware that I'm not the most experienced editor, but I would like to start getting more involved. For now, I wouldn't be planning to make PM's my main focus. I'd rather want to be the occasional mover. Helping new users in the NPP feed in need of it, closing the occasional RM when I see it, or perhaps helping a bit in the TR department and it probably wouldn't hurt when drafifying. The perm allowing me to be more efficient and hopefully being able to help others.

Kind Regards and thanks for considering Squawk7700 (talk) 00:50, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
