Biografía

El so verdaderu nome yera Louis de Beaumont, y nació n'Abilene, Kansas. Los más importantes ésitos de Beaumont tuvieron llugar na dómina del cine mudu, dirixendo cintes como la de John Barrymore Beau Brummel (1924) o Our Dancing Daughters (1928), interpretada por Joan Crawford. Beaumont tamién dirixó'l primer musical sonoru de MGM, The Broadway Melody (1929), filme que ganó l'Óscar a la meyor película d'esi añu, siendo Beaumont nomáu al Óscar al meyor direutor (el premiu llograr Frank Lloyd por The Divine Lady).
