To answer your question, you need to have them all in one template - so on my userpage it's {{#Babel:en|de-3}}. On your userpage it could be {{#Babel:en|fr-3|es-2}} to have them appear like this. Alternatively, you can just combine the templates you had already, so it's just {{babel|en|fr-3|es-2}} and that'll look the exact same. I'm not that experienced in content creation on this wiki, so I'd take my opinion with a slight pinch of salt considering that - but on the face of it, it seems to be very well-written. Plenty of sources cited to prove every point, clear to read, broad in coverage, neutral and as illustrated as is reasonable given the context. @GommehGaming101: In the trial sections you do seem to depend on the transcripts quite a lot, especially in the defense section, where it is the main citation you use, so I would agree with that, yes. So I would try to find some secondary sources to cover these, and maybe cut them down a bit - this information is all (mainly) from one source, albeit probably the most important source you could have in that article so I do understand part of why. On cutting things down: Point 4.1 in the defense section goes into detail about why they invoked the doctrine of universal jurisdiction but that's already covered on that article. Nothing you say in that point is controversial, but it's essentially just reciting what the doctrine is, so I would just cut it down to the first and maybe last sentence, then it also doesn't give the impression that you're depending on the source as much. --Ferien (talk) 20:41, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am editing the Wikipedia page "2025 GT World Challenge Europe". The page has a weird format when viewing the article on a mobile device. The headings are not collapsible, there is a pencil icon where the usual collapse arrow would be, the infobox and multiple image templates come before the paragraphs in the initial description, unlike other articles. Hello Ferien! I am trying to publish a bio of Carlos Castaño Uribe. It was initially rejected mostly because of lack of references and also because it appears to have used AI. I did ask an AI chatbot to support me in summarizing information and have already worked on that issue. However, I am more worried about the referencing part. Carlos has been featured in over 25 media, both national and international, and featured in 2 documentaries. I would think that this is enough to support his notability, but according to the reviewer, that it is not enough. Am I using the media coverage in a way that is not showing notability? I am working in including references to Carlos´s published works, but can you please recommed a way to make his notability explicit in the draft article? Thank you! I know this might sound a bit emotional… but I just want to say — sometimes I feel invisible here.

I see people being awarded Barnstars left and right, and I’m happy for them — really. But at the same time, I keep asking myself: “Why not me?” I’ve been trying so hard to contribute, to support others, to improve things where I can.

It honestly feels unfair — like everyone’s being noticed but me. And I’ll admit it: it makes me feel a bit bitter and sad, like a dog left out in the rain.

I don’t want pity. I just want to be seen. Maybe appreciated. Maybe even awarded — just once.

If you ever felt that my work deserves a Barnstar, it would truly mean the world to me.

Hi Spectra321578, I'd just like to first thank you for your contributions here, they are very much appreciated. Barnstars are given very rarely – I personally have 27,000 edits here, yet 6 barnstars, the latest of which was almost 3 years ago. The fact you haven't been awarded one isn't a sign you haven't been working hard at all, just that your work may not have been noticed. Barnstars are meant to be exceptional and by giving you one after you've gone around finding people who might want to give you one, the value of that barnstar would be reduced. You shouldn't contribute with the sole purpose of gaining barnstars, they are meant to be a kind award for work that you might get every now and then. For the day in the Christian calendar marking The Feast of the Annunciation, the only image is a somewhat saccharine painting by Paolo de Metteis. Who’s Paolo de Metteis, you ask? Exactly. It feels extremely weird and almost hostile to assign this one obscure canvas to the ecclesiastical celebration of an event whose legacy in paint rivals even the Crucifixion. It’s not ‘wrong,’ but it’s arbitrary at best. I’m aware that the Annunciation as an artistic topos has its own wiki pages, but would it be ok to sub out Paolo Who for one of the many hundreds of options with greater art historical gravitas? How to edit an entry which has a statement supported by an innaccurate reference. Case in point on entry for shock collar there is a statement saying that "shock" collars used for containment systems are illegal in a list of countries which includes Scotland. This is not true. The reference is to an article by Zazie Todd which also provides the same misinformation. Hi howdy! I've been updating Post Animal (a currently active band)'s page and I'm having trouble finding a free image that'll show all or most of the members (six in total). I've found press-released images that would be great, but I understand that since they're a living and active band that we shouldn't use non-free images, so I'm stuck on how else to get good images for their page. Is there a way to know if an image is free other than a "this image is free/cc" statement on the page it's used? Indeed, per the non-free content guideline we can't really use non-free images on living bands and yeah, unless it says the image is free-use, you have to assume it's copyrighted. Hi Sara Lobkovich, welcome to Wikipedia. Under current speedy deletion policy, your userpage would probably be eligible for deletion in around 6 months time per U7 in the speedy deletion policy, if you don't contribute to Wikipedia much more. This is to stop Wikipedia being used as a webhost, especially for people who do not contribute to Wikipedia very much. That being said, if your page is deleted, your user account cannot be deleted. Accounts can be blocked, but I do not think this would be the case here, and if you are, there are always ways to appeal. Some personal advice: I would slash a lot of the stuff in your userpage. I would keep it very limited, maybe one or two lines. As it currently stands, it is (what looks to be) an AI-generated bio that almost feels promotional. You can look at my userpage to get an idea of how limited userpages often are. Some people like to make them longer, and that is fine, but they should focus primarily on your work on Wikipedia. @Ferien , Yeah -- it occurred to me today that I can just delete it myself to hopefuly get back in good graces! I though that the userpage was private (like, a place to practice), so that was my bad, and my misunderstanding. I'll cut it way way down, per the example.

One of the things that's confusing me about trying to support the community editing here is that what I'd hoped to contribute around are my areas of expertise since currently the material in that space is really old/outdated... but when I read the rules, since I work in the space, it seems I'd be conflicted out (even from making fact-based, neutral statements that don't self-promote).

For a scenario / example -- in the article on Objectives and key results - Wikipedia, there is this statement:

OKRs comprise an objective (a significant, concrete, clearly defined goal) and 3–5 key results (measurable success criteria used to track the achievement of that goal).[2]

To which I would suggest an edit of:

Hi 7takes, welcome to Wikipedia - that's a really good question that is slightly difficult to answer! I don't think I have seen any examples on English Wikipedia where I've had to use IAR, though on Simple English Wikipedia, we've occasionally ignored the rules in cases of very clear deletions (for example, if there is a cross-namespace redirect that technically doesn't fall under the criteria). There have also been times where the rules contradict each other - we are generally supposed to follow what English Wikipedia does on Simple English Wikipedia, however we have an article named Automobile, not Car, like it is named here. We chose to name it Automobile because that word is on our defined list of words and car isn't! These are the main examples I can think of off the top of my head, I hope they are somewhat helpful. Hey again Jabba550, I'm guessing you mean how when you type something like {{subst:uw-vandalism1|Article}}, it links to Article or whatever you would write there? Because it is the first variable mentioned in the template, it's treated as 1 (so you can also type {{subst:uw-vandalism1|1=Article}} for the same effect) so when you're making a template, you can use {{{1}}} when making the template. Pppery, thanks for the notice. I have reduced the number of mentors I am assigned due to recent inactivity on this wiki and will work to respond to all requests by the end of this week. There are a few requests that don't warrant responses (due to being from blocked users or just unrelated to Wikipedia) but yes I haven't been on top of this for a good while. Im trying to get an edit done to a semi protected page, but keep being rejected / ignored - can you help make this happen?

Hi Jabba550, you can set up a bot to archive your talk page. You can work out which bot to choose using this table. There is then a template at the bottom of each column for the bot you choose to use, and you can then substitute that template to add to the top of your talk page to start archiving, using the parameters given on the documentation.
