Crambidae là một họ bướm cỏ thuộc bộ Cánh vẩy Lepidoptera và thường được biết đến như là bướm đêm. Chúng có vẻ bề ngoài khá đa dạng, phân họ trên danh nghĩa Crambinae (bướm cỏ) có tư thế gập cánh khi bám vào cọng cỏ làm khó phân biệt, trong khi các loài thuộc các phân họ khác có màu và hình dạng sáng với tư thế nghỉ xòe cánh. Một số loài có màu sắc tương đối tối màu, trong khi các loài khác có màu sáng và bắt mắt.

Trong một số hệ thống phân loại, Crambidae từng được xếp thành phân họ của Pyralidae hay bướm đêm có mũi. Điểm khác biệt cơ bản là cấu tạo của tai được gọi là praecinctorium, bộ phận nối hai màng nhĩ trong họ Crambidae mà nó không có trong họ Pyralidae. Các đánh giá mới nhất của Munroe & Solis, trong Kristensen (1999) vẫn cho rằng Crambidae là một họ.
